urlbee is a link shortener (“we”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: help@ube.my.id. This page explains what urlbee stores, why, on what legal basis, and for how long. urlbee shows no ads and doesn't sell or share your data for marketing.
What we store and why
- Links you shorten: the destination address, the short code or custom name, when it was made, when it expires and how many times it was opened. Purpose: to run the short link you asked for. Basis: providing the service you requested.
- Your account, if you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture as provided by Google, your Google account ID (to recognise you next time), when you joined and when you last signed in. We never see your Google password, and we don't keep the access or ID tokens Google sends during sign-in. We use your Google data only to sign you in and to show your name and picture in urlbee; we don't share or sell it. Basis: providing the service you requested.
- Visits to short links: the time, the website the visitor came from (only its domain, such as instagram.com), the country, the device type and the browser name. The country is estimated by our host (Vercel) from the visitor's IP address and may be wrong when a VPN or proxy is used. We don't store visitors' IP addresses, full browser details or the exact page they came from. Link previews and bots aren't recorded. Purpose: click statistics for the link's owner. Basis: legitimate interest, using the least data needed.
- Abuse protection: to stop spam, urlbee counts recent requests per visitor or account. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of the IP address or account ID, never the address itself, and delete these counters within one day. Basis: legitimate interest in keeping the service safe.
Who can see it
- Links made without signing in appear on the home page as short links only; where they lead is not shown there.
- Links made while signed in, and their visit statistics, are visible only to you and to the urlbee administrator.
- Anyone who has a short link can open it and will be sent to its destination.
Services urlbee relies on
- Vercel hosts the website and estimates which country a visit comes from. Location: Vercel Inc., United States; the website runs on servers in Washington, D.C., United States.
- Neon stores the database, encrypted at rest and in transit. Location: Neon Inc., United States; the database is stored in Northern Virginia, United States (AWS US East 1).
- Google handles sign-in. Location: Google LLC, Mountain View, California, United States.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that people shortening links without an account are human. To do this it processes the visitor's IP address, TLS fingerprint, browser User-Agent and the site it runs on. Location: Cloudflare, Inc., San Francisco, California, United States; checks run on Cloudflare's global network.
These providers are based or process data outside Indonesia. We use them under their data processing terms, which commit them to protecting personal data, as required by Article 56 of Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection. Each also processes data under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
urlbee uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in (encrypted), short-lived security cookies used during Google sign-in, and a cookie that shows a one-time “welcome” or “signed in” message and is deleted right away. Cloudflare Turnstile may set its own cookies for its human check. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
- Links made without signing in expire after 7 days (or 30 days if chosen) and are deleted within a day after that.
- Links made while signed in stay until you delete them or choose an expiry date.
- Visit details are kept for up to 400 days. Deleting a link also deletes its visit history.
- Your account stays until you ask for it to be deleted. To delete your account and its data, send a request by email to help@ube.my.id.
Children
urlbee is not meant for children. If you are under 18, use urlbee only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date, and we will tell signed-in users about important changes before they take effect.
